Angkor Wat is a truely magical place. To get the best of the temples I would recommend hiring a guide. Our guide was Sophanna Muon and he was excellent - fluent in English and much enthusiasm about his homeland. He can befound at www.exploreangkorwat.com

Couldn't agree more on the temples, the 5am sunrise was worth it without a doubt.

"Rather cheekily you can only purchase 1 day or 3 day tickets to the Angkor Wat park, forcing those that only want 2 days to spend more than they need"

Just be careful mentioning this. A day ticket is $20 and a 3 day is $40. So 2 day visitors spend exactly what they would if they went for a single day, while 3 days are a possibility if you want the extra one.
